Malcolm X Avenue Designation Affiliates (MXADA) is a community movement dedicated to renaming Cottage Grove Street to Malcolm X Blvd. Our mission is to honor the legacy of civil rights leadership and empower the next generation through education and advocacy.
Implementation Plan
DOT Updates
We will coordinate with the Department of Transportation to update official maps, signage, and city records within 12 months of the designation.
Transitional Signage
To ensure a smooth transition, we will install transitional signage for 24 months that displays both Cottage Grove and Malcolm X Blvd.
Agency Notifications
We will notify all relevant city agencies, postal services, and utility providers to ensure seamless updates across all municipal systems.
